Sharon Lee Farmer was born and raised in Brumley Gap, Va graduating with Honors from Patrick Henry High School in 1986. Sharon received her bachelors and master’s degrees from Radford University with a major in Criminal Justice and minors in Psychology and Sociology. In 2019, Sharon earned her J.D. from Liberty University School of Law in Lynchburg Virginia where she served as the law school’s chaplain.
Prior to starting a second career, Sharon was an adjuster for State Farm Insurance for 26 years. As an adjuster, she routinely handled complex insurance cases across Virginia and West Virginia. One of Sharon’s investigations involved the coverage investigation in the Chinese Drywall multi-plaintiff and class action lawsuits. It was this investigation that eventually took her to Bangkok Thailand to investigate the coverage issues involved in 200+ lawsuits.
Sharon was also called on to work various catastrophes that occurred across the United States. This work required an understanding of flood policies in addition to homeowner policies.
In 2019, Sharon joined the law firm of Jessee, Read & Howard, P.C. with a solid background in insurance.
Sharon and her husband Ed live in Rhea Valley, Va where they raised their two sons, Justin and Zachary. She knows what it means to start over in life and is looking forward to a long career at Jessee, Read & Howard.
